Advanced Scholars Program
The Advanced Scholars Program (ASP) at William H. Turner Technical Arts High School is designed to encourage scholastic achievement and accelerated instruction to high performing students. The mission of the program is to help students earn a high school diploma and a two-year Associates of Arts Degree, while completing their academy program of study (3 for 1). The program targets entering freshmen only and the following guidelines must be adhered to:

Adhere to Miami-Dade County Public Schools Dual Enrollment Policy

Adhere to Miami-Dade College dual enrollment conduct/admission policy

Vigorously pursue an Associates of Arts degree

Always maintain an overall 3.5 unweighted GPA

Participate in the Early College Admissions program during the senior year

Complete all high school requirements before senior year

Earn a B or better in all dual enrollment courses
08
Always Earn a B or better in conduct
09
Always Exhibit exemplary conduct and character (e.g., no referrals/Tech Time)

Retain honor roll status each grading period

Pass the first administration of all high school required exams

Receive a college-ready score on the PERT for all sections
13
Maintain good attendance (e.g., no more than 3 unexcused absences in all class and school)
14
Satisfy all course prerequisites for graduation and academy program of study
15
Return all dual enrollment books and college transcript at the end of each course
16
Attend parent conference each year with CAP Advisor and Academic Advisor/Counselor
